A STATEMENT ABOUT THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS MARKET
The decision to cancel the Ultimate Christmas Market was made late on November 14 in accordance with the most accurate weather information available from the Bureau of Meteorology.
At that time we were advised that a severe weather warning was in place for Moore Park on Saturday November 15 and that to run an outdoor event could be dangerous due to rain, wind and lightning. We decided to advise stallholders that the market was not safe due to the weather warning and the market was cancelled.
As we today discovered, the warnings proved inaccurate. The predicted rain and thunderstorms did not arrive until late in the afternoon.
We tried hard to get the message out to the public that the market had been cancelled, however some people still attended. We offer a sincere apology if you did not receive the message that the market had been cancelled.
We, the organisers, were incredibly saddened by the closure of this special market after a year of careful planning of the event. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of the market.
We will be back on Wednesday and Saturday with our regular traders and some of our Christmas ones including Santa on Saturday.
